More than Kitesurfing!
There is more to the Manta area than just kitesurfing! The Pacific coast in Ecuador offers countless touristic attractions and sports activities.
In Manta - 20 minutes away from the kite beach- you can pay a morning visit to the fish market. Watch the small boats arriving with the days catch and perhaps buy one for the afternoon BBQ!
Also near Manta, we have the small town of Montecristi where the famous Panama hats are made. Streets filled with hand made crafts make it a good place for your souvenier shopping!
Following the coast southwards we find many beaches were you could surf or just visit the small fishing villages.
Whale watching is a popular activity from June to October. You can visit the town of Puerto Lopez (90Km from Manta) where Machalilla National Park guides can take you on a long day tour of whale watching, snorkeling and trecking on the Isla de la Plata (poor mens Galapagos) .
Humboldt Kites can provide arrangments for these tours.
If you rather just stay on the beach you can always relax on a hamoc in you beach front hotel/hostal waiting for the wind to pick up!
On no wind days or early mornings stand up paddle boards are available for rental.
