Why the name Humboldt Kites?

The windy season on the Ecuadorian coast starts every year with the arrival from the south of the cold water Humboldt current.

This cold water marks the end of the rainy season, and the beginning of the dry season and good winds. 

The Humboldt Kites Kiteboarding School is located at Santa Marianita Beach - Manta- Ecuador 

The school offers one on one courses from begginers to advance.

Waves?

During the earlier months of the season our spot is reached by south-east swells. Nicely forming waves of 1-2mts are perfect for learning or improving your wave skills.

North swells hit our kite spot in the months of November to January. Waves up to 2-3 mts can be found.

Still with winds averaging 18-25 knots.

Riding S-E swell in August.
